Over the years I have read lots of channelled messages and I have found that, for me, they contain the greatest wisdom and understanding of life and spirituality.

The messages are from different sources and the writers/speakers are from various walks of life, but the words that are brought forth are so full of love, joy, beauty and encouragement that it makes no difference if you believe that the words are from nonphysical beings or not. The pure wisdom of the truth that resonates with your being makes it irrelevant where they are from… as we are all ONE anyway!

What Is Channelling?

The common depiction of channelling is that a person leaves their body and lets a spirit or other non-physical being speak through them. Although this is true for some channellers it is rather limiting in its view. It is also feared and ridiculed by some people who are unable to open their minds to other possibilities. This has been purposefully taught by mainstream education, religion and society to limit us having the ability to reach our full potential. Abraham-Hicks, my personal favourite, doesn’t use the term ‘channeling’ because of its limiting and negative association.

There are some people who have a ‘known’ source from what they receive and know for certain that they are channelling because they go through a process which prepares them for the experience, much like turning on a radio and then tuning it in to hear a certain ‘channel.’

Through what I have learned and my own experiences I believe that channelling is a natural ability of us all. I believe that when I sit to write some of my poems I am channelling because the words and ideas just flow and when I read them back afterwards I am quite surprised by what I have written. I have no idea ‘who’ I am receiving it from though.

We are Spiritual Beings in a human body and there are times when our mind and body are more in tune with our Spirit or Higher Self than at others. When we are more in alignment with our Higher Self the energy of love flows through us freely, we are bringing through, or channelling, our thoughts, words and actions from our true Spiritual Selves, unhindered by negative emotions and conditions. It is easy to know when you are aligned with your Higher Self as you will feel… Love, Joy, Bliss, Happiness, Excitement, Passionate or any other high-end positive emotion, also it can affect our perception of time, either making it disappear or giving us a glimpse of the eternal NOW moment.

As ultimately we are all ONE, it isn’t then much of a jump to understand that if we are Spirit, linked to our Higher Spiritual Self, then we are also capable of letting the flow of loving energy from another part of ‘OurSelves’ flow through the physical apparatus that we control.

Channelled Messages Through The Ages

Channelling has always been used by people of all continents and races and there are thousands of documented incidents throughout early history.

In Ancient Egypt one of the well-known channellers and a visionary was Pharaoh Akhnaton (Amenhotep IV) who ruled from 1378 BC to 1362 BC, he was also one of the earliest proponents of monotheism (a belief in one God).

From around 2000 BC to 300 BC in Ancient Greece, channelling was used by Oracles who were people that went into trance to access information from beyond human consciousness. They also had a Pythia, who was a Priestess who brought messages through from the God that controlled her.

Some of early histories famous characters supported channelling. Pythagoras was known to have held seances. Socrates spoke of ‘the special gift of heaven’, and Plato described prophecy as ‘the noblest of arts.’

Joan of Arc was one who received harsh treatment for speaking about her abilities as so many others have been persecuted throughout history.

Swedish scientist Emanuel Swedenborg, born in 1688, began to have channeled visions in his fifties and went on to write about life outside the body.

One of the most famous of all channellers was American Edgar Cayce, born in 1877, who was nicknamed ‘The Sleeping Prophet.’ Edgar was a medical diagnostician and prophet. There is a whole library of thousands of his psychic readings in Virgina and many books have been written about him. Another interesting thing is that David Wilcock, born in 1973 is believed to be the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce. David is a lecturer, author and film maker who has had prophetic dreams that have come true, he also looks amazingly like Edgar Cayce!

Even today there are many people who will not accept that channelling is possible or that it is only the work negative entities. Some will never open their minds to the possibility, but others will become aware of the unlimited source of love and wisdom that channelling can supply. Of course, as in the physical world, there are negative energies as well as positive, but any good channeller or channeled being will state that nothing they say should be considered the truth unless it resonates with your own self, always use your own natural ability to discern what is YOUR truth.

Channelling Definition: The Divine, inspired words (or energy) of God, as imparted to humans by humans.

The above definition is what channelling actually IS. That means that not only were most of the sacred scriptures of the planet (all religions) originally channelled, but also much artwork and music too. It is absolutely commonplace, but like so many other re-emerging processes in the New Age, it has a stigma about it that is strange. God did not write the Bible.. Humans did, while Divinely inspired.

We have been used to having ‘authorized and sanctioned’ men and women of God passing information to us… not the common folks.
