Affirming The Classics is my series of poems I have based on old, well-known inspirational poems and hymns. I am re-writing them to be full of positivity and to make them into affirmations.

Although the originals are all wonderful poems, most tend to focus at least half of the poem on negative aspects. At the time they were written this was suitable, but, nowadays we are much more aware of the importance of focusing on the positive to bring about the changes we desire in our lives.

Many people use affirmations (positive statements, in present tense and using I, my or we) to create a change in their consistent thoughts and beliefs. The words ‘I Am’ are often used in my poems, because saying ‘I Am’ announces the presence of God within, and are therefore powerful words of creation for whatever completes the sentence.

That tuned my aural energy
I once was lost, deafened by duality
But now I hear the harmony of Unity

Desiderata Fulfilled

Wherever I Am, I remain calm and tranquil.
I Am always at peace in the silence of my Heart.
I accept all people just as they are.
My Unconditional Love and Light flows in Oneness.

I speak my truth clearly with an open Heart
I listen attentively to all the people I meet…
We exchange our stories,
and always learn something from the experience.
My energy of Love and Light attracts only those
on the same vibrational Path.

I appreciate those I perceive as having more
of whatever focus I Am placing…
Their Light shines before me, as I also shine my Light for others.

I enjoy my achievements and my plans.
I know everything always works out for my Highest Good.
I follow my passions, so I Am guided to live in abundance, truth and joy..
Working alongside others who walk the same Path.

I Am a Divine Being of Love and Light

I Am a child of the Divine Universe.
I Am as needed and precious as the trees on Earth,
and the Cosmos of stars.
The Universe continually unfolds
and expands for the Highest Good of The-All.

I Am at peace with my own connection and perception of God.
I Am contented knowing
others will always have their own perceptions.
I Am truly at peace in the Inner-Knowing
and stillness of my Divine Soul.

My powerful thoughts and beliefs create my world.
I Am living in a beautiful world of Love, Light, Wonder and Miracles.

I Am perpetually happy, because no matter what:
ALL IS WELL.

Footprints In The Sand – Unknown

My Footprints In The Sand

One night I had a dream.
I dreamed I was walking along a beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
one belonging to me, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of my life flashed before me
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that sometimes along the Path of my life
there was only one set of footprints.

Then I realized that it was when I moved closer to the Lord
and our footsteps combined that I was happier.
These were the times in my life I felt an abundance of Love,
Gratitude and Peace.

The Lord said to me:
“You are my beloved, precious child of the Light.
I Am with you now, and forever,
but you always have freewill to follow your own Path.
My footprints are there beside you, to guide you, if you choose.
No matter what, I Will Always Love You Unconditionally.”

Footprints In The Sand – Unknown

Footprints Of Light

I walked with my friend Jesus beside the sea
Knowing that with me He would always be
I was on the damp, dense sand of the Earth
He on soft, light and golden, with me since birth

We turned to look at the footprints we’d made
But only one set could I see out there laid
Weaving in and out of the waves of the sea
At various depths were the footprints of me

I recalled and went to a time in my past
Heavy-hearted, my feet sinking fast
Into the sea of life I’d gone too deep
But near to me Jesus would always keep

Looking back at our footprints I now saw
Rays of Light I did not notice there before
Straight and True, His prints were of The Light
A way to Be, His Loving Path shined so bright

Then I noticed the more delicate steps of mine
Were as I moved closer, and I did combine
My own Path with the Light of His Way
On soft, golden sands with Him, I now stay

One more lesson His Footprints came to tell
Gratitude to Mother Earth, and to keep her well
He left no imprint, only Blessings of Light
My Inner Being knows this vision to be right

The I AM Prayer

All-That-Is, God, The I AM Energy,
Known by many names: All One Source…
Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent.
Physical and non-physical dimensions are United in Oneness.

I Am thankful for the abundance You eternally provide.
I Am thankful for Your gift of freewill to choose my own way.
I Am choosing to be open-Hearted to Your Presence and guidance.
I Am living the way of:
Love, Light, Peace, Compassion, Forgiveness and Joy.

I Am a particle of You, as we all are.
I Am in Your Kingdom, respectfully alongside many other forms of life.
I Am Your Love and Light.
